Genesis-About the Organization

Rural Development Society was established in 1998. Since then, it has initiated and implemented the following projects:

  • Committed action on Environmental Awareness through Advocacy and Education programs.
  • Awareness and Education programmes on HIV/AIDS, Management on Solid Waste through -recycling of kitchen waste convert into manure for better plantation purpose and developed vermi compost pits etc.
  • Also taken up massive campaigns on Elimination of Child Labour programs.

Rural Development Society, (RDS) Tarnaka is registered under Society Act vide Regd.No.2026/1998 and implemented various activities i.e. National Environment Awareness Campaign (N.E.A.C.) supported by Ministry of Environment & Forests, New Delhi; HIV/AIDS Awareness program underthe support of Elton John Aids Foundation, London, UK and Women Empowerment Programme under the support of RashtriyaMahilaKhosh, New Delhi.

Later, in the Year April 2016, the Short Stay Home(SSH) Programme has been re organized into“SWADHAR GREH” with the main objective of:

  • To cater to the primary need of shelter, food, clothing, medical treatment and care of the women in distress and who are without any social and economic support.
  • The SWADHAR GREH program has been facilitated total more than 328 Inmates since April 2016 to till date 31-03-2021.
  • The Programme is also support and monitored by Women Development and Child Welfare Development, Telangana State through District Welfare Officer, WD&CWD, Hyderabad district by every span of six months.
